Event Management

I have had the opportunity to coordinate many different sizes and styles of events. Some of these events were festivals, awards ceremonies, musical performances, staff functions, board meetings, annual general meetings, conferences, sporting events, speed dating events, boating trips, contests, promotional events and theme parties. Specific skills and qualifications I have applied at various stages and levels of event coordination are:

• managed multiple events or event areas concurrently from inception through to implementation
• acted as Sponsorship & Media Coordinator generating sponsor funds and in-kind partners. This involved all correspondence, negotiations and follow-through
• ensured accurate and timely dissemination of marketing and promotional materials
• completed various sponsor grants and consulted on other grants available to the arts
• created print collateral such as event programs, sponsorship and advertising packages
• composed and distributed press releases and media kits
• initiated, maintained and renewed relationships with event partners including sponsors, media, advertisers, vendors and charitable organizations. 
• managed and fulfilled all partnership obligations
• created, designed, executed and promoted organization’s e-mail campaign and event print program
• sought out advertisers and promoted sales of adverts for event printed program and web media
• maintained event branding
• updated multiple websites and event social media sites (Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, Flickr, Blogs)
• carried out position of Volunteer Coordinator including promoting opportunities, recruiting, maintaining data bases, training, supervising, and coordinating volunteer events and meetings
• carried out position of event Greening Coordinator including researching and developing greening initiatives and supplies followed by supervision of staff through implementation and finalization of goals
• completed post event reporting and evaluation
• hold a Serving It Right certification for special occasion license purposes

Not only have I been invloved in events at many levels of the coordination process, I have also had the opportunity to participate in many event volunteer roles. These experiences have greatly contributed to my overall understanding and knowledge of event management. Some of these events have been:
